The Arbitration Council has been made aware that indexing rewards for Moonbeam were disabled without sufficient notice to Indexers while active allocations remained open.
Moonbeam is no longer producing blocks, and the infrastructure normally used to establish epoch block boundaries is therefore unable to provide the information required for Indexers to close these allocations through the standard process.
To allow affected Indexers to safely close their existing Moonbeam allocations and claim the associated indexing rewards, the Arbitration Council establishes the following procedure:
- Indexers should use Moonbeam block 16,795,970 as the reference block.
- The
poi, blockNumber, andpublicPOIsupplied when closing the allocation should correspond to that block. - Allocations should be closed using the
--forceoption to bypass EBO checks which would result in a failed check.
For arbitration purposes, the Arbitration Council will consider a valid POI calculated at block 16,795,970 to be an acceptable proof for closing affected Moonbeam allocations.
This is a temporary exception intended specifically to allow existing Moonbeam allocations affected by the unannounced removal of indexing rewards to be closed. It should not be interpreted as restoring Moonbeam as an actively supported network or as establishing a general procedure for deprecated networks. This exception will only apply for:
- allocations created prior to September 25th 14:00 GMT
- allocations closed between September 25th 14:00 GMT and October 1st 14:00 GMT
