Hello, indexer here. Thank you for opening this thread — we’ve completed our investigation and can explain the divergence fully.
**Summary.** The disputed allocation `0xd5d4e381f971e288b175bf8defa70345e6cd15bc` (deployment `QmXhWmYZyEr8PGEic8F739wVqvMYxHLD7jke69RXmwQU95`, Aave v2 Avalanche; disputed POI `0x348e491069d0394fe0162666c0dbcb65747309c566bd2feaaed38a6442c0b28f`) was closed automatically by the official indexer-agent, with the POI generated by graph-node from a fully synced, healthy copy. The divergence is caused by a documented determinism bug in official graph-node — not by any manual intervention.
**Root cause.** graph-node PR [#5867](https://github.com/graphprotocol/graph-node/pull/5867) inadvertently changed `event.transactionLogIndex` to return 0 with geth-style RPC providers. It shipped in v0.38.0 and was reverted in v0.39.1 (fix commit [ccd276e6cac5ab2446b6ed3ebc7ccb8d8b28a5b9](https://github.com/graphprotocol/graph-node/commit/ccd276e6cac5ab2446b6ed3ebc7ccb8d8b28a5b9)), whose [release notes](https://github.com/graphprotocol/graph-node/releases/tag/v0.39.1) explicitly cite “duplicate ID errors and POI divergence between indexers”.
This subgraph embeds `event.transactionLogIndex` in its entity IDs — see [`getHistoryEntityId`, src/utils/id-generation.ts line 13](https://github.com/aave/protocol-v2-subgraph/blob/23c5374a809ca7223644326ee6bc05040c603e7b/src/utils/id-generation.ts#L13). Every entity written while we ran v0.38.0 (deployed 2025-04-23, upgraded to v0.39.1 on 2025-06-04, per our config git history) therefore carries a divergent ID. For example, at the first divergent block 59392151 (hash `0x9891e2f8da0908e1e54df029cee0bdaa8b131e0bbc5505895f2333ab5a6ad853`), the Deposit in tx `0xd3b5ee0833f64ec0b3ef5091fc9762186d5443b3f99aec962fe53820a155bdc2` got ID `…:46:0` in our copy versus `…:46:46` on other indexers — identical data otherwise. POIs being cumulative, all our subsequent POIs on this deployment differ from consensus.
**Evidence available on request:**
- POI bisection pinpointing block 59392151 as the first divergent block;
- entity-level comparison at that block against other indexers’ public status endpoints (`entityChangesInBlock`), showing identical data except the transactionLogIndex ID component;
- indexer-agent db dump showing automatic closure (`poi: null` in the action queue);
- poi table dumps and software versions.
**Remediation (data already corrected, catch-up in progress).** We resynced the affected range from below block 59392151 on graph-node v0.42.1 and verified the re-indexed entities match consensus exactly. **This corrected copy is now the active copy for the deployment.** It is still catching up to chain head; until it is fully synced we will close any allocation on this deployment with a 0x0 POI, and subsequent closures will submit POIs from the clean copy.
Note: This was a 50 GRT allocation, which earned 0.33 GRT in indexing rewards and 2.76 GRT in query fees over its 21-epoch lifetime. There was no economic upside to be gained here from anything but honest indexing.

Thanks for the investigation Ellipfra, I verified the above and everything you said checks out, I see no reason to waste arbitrators time with this one, so I withdraw my dispute. Thank you for the detailed investigation above and your remediation steps.
While I’m here I would recommend you to take a look at the subgraph below to check if a similar issue may be at play:

I see a few other discrepancies on various other subgraphs, but I’m not as confident in the underlying cause on those and the present signal from other indexers is a lot messier with regards to poi consensus, likely due to determinism issues on the subgraphs.

To my recollection this is the first time we see that specific class of divergence in the wild. Now that we know that it exists for real, I will be conducting further analysis do determine if other subgraphs are impacted.
As for the subgraph that you mention, a quick analysis suggests that Ellipfra has compatible POIs with P2P, while badcoffee.eth appears to be the outlier. When there are too few indexers on a subgraph it remains very difficult to determine the reference.
