Summary
June into mid-July marked a major leap forward for The Token API’s cross-chain data capabilities. We launched Solana support—including full SPL/DEX analytics. Our backend saw a comprehensive upgrade, streamlining data routing and management across both EVM and Solana chains.
Operationally, we added a dedicated MCP service and tighter permission controls to provide a more modular and secure foundation for future growth. As we scaled event tracking, price insights, and hard fork operations, our focus remained on delivering robust infrastructure and richer developer tooling.
Looking back (what was delivered)
Provided infrastructure for chains currently supported on The Graph and to support protocol integration with new chains.
New blockchains for this period:
- Cosmos Gaia: (RPC)
Token API:
- Advanced OHLC Data: Added price tracking with configurable intervals and statistical aggregations.
- Added support for Polygon
- Avalanche NFT Activities: Launched a new NFT activities endpoint on Avalanche featuring ERC721 transfer data (API reference).
- OpenAPI Schema Enhancements: Improved API documentation with better validation, examples, and type definitions
- Solana Data Ingestion: Fully loaded Solana token and DEX data into ClickHouse for the first time, marking a major milestone for cross-chain data accessibility.
- Solana SPL Token: Added support for parsing SPL and SPL-2022 tokens with balance tracking and detailed transfer events (mints, burns, approvals, revokes) for enhanced on-chain analytics. (spl-token-v0.1.0 release)
- Solana DEX Substreams:
- Updated and patched third-party (0xbolt) Solana substreams to ensure compatibility with Substreams v0.6.x and to fix reliability issues in Raydium DEX parsing. (solana-0xbolt raydium_amm-v0.1.8 patch release)
- Expanded Solana DEX tracking: now includes detailed support for multiple exchanges like: Jupiter V4/V6, Raydium V4, Pump.fun Bonding Curve & AMM, with standardized output (notably via unified swaps and ohlc_prices tables).
MCP Services:
- Modern HTTP Stream Interface: Upgraded MCP server to utilize FastMCP v2.x library, enabling a modern “HTTP Stream” interface and unifying SSE/Stream handling through the MCP HTTP Stream specification.
- AI-Discoverable Database Documentation: Implemented a system to annotate all ClickHouse databases and tables with structured, descriptive comments, making them easily discoverable by AI agents through automated resource prompts.
Auxiliary Services:
- Hard forks: Coordinated and executed node upgrades for ten major hard forks across Arbitrum (One & Nova), Celo (Mainnet & Alfajores), BSC (Mainnet), Polygon (Mainnet & Amoy Testnet), Gnosis, Ronin, IoTeX, Blast, Optimism, and Starknet, ensuring post-fork validation and operational service through proactive monitoring and rapid response.
Community & Documentation: Education and Support for Indexers and Developers
We published an article on our blog, in which we introduced Scaffold ETH as a simple way to integrate The Graph’s Token API.
We’ve continued event production support for the weekly Builders Office Hours.
In our efforts to promote The Graph’s Token API, we are working closely with Edge & Node’s marketing team on organic outreach and growth strategies.
We engaged with several platforms for MCP servers in order to get the Token API server listed. Results so far:
- Published: Cursor.Directory
- In moderation: 2 (Glama & MCP.so)
Additionally we attended a selection of IRL events (Las Vegas, Berlin, Cannes) in order to promote Firehose, Substreams and the Token API.
Looking ahead (upcoming priorities)
Data Services:
- Continue to build and add features to the Token API. Share your feedback here.
Infrastructure & Tooling:
- Continued migration of infrastructure to Kubernetes to improve speed, reliability, and scalability, while also enhancing status reporting and operational management for Token API requirements including database scaling and capacity management.
Community & Documentation:
- Supporting operational tools for indexers
- Ongoing support on The Graph Discord
- Ongoing promotion of News related to The Graph in Asian communities
