Summary
The Pinax team had a productive month producing tons of content, 2 live events, new substream-powerd APIs and sinks, enhancements to our existing open source Substreams, and expanding our hosting capabilities with a new all-star hire and more services.
Looking back (what was delivered)
Provide infrastructure for chains currently supported on The Graph & to support protocol integration with new chains
- Hired Vince, long time Graph community member, IndexerDAO member, and OG indexer (Nodeify) to join the Pinax team full time to accelerate our indexing expertise and expand our Firehose and Substreams operations capabilities.
- Handing increased volume for RPC calls on Ethereum Mainnet.
- Seeking feedback on onboarding and hosting package and pricing for chain integration process.
Education, onboarding & community support for Indexers and Developers working with new data services
- The Pinax team co-hosted an event in China on October 30th: The Graph visits the College of Blockchain Industry in Chengdu
- In cooperation with the Graph Advocate, @cryptobeijing.
- About 40 Students attended the event.
- Lena, Pinaxโs lead community manager in China, did a presentation on Pinax and the Firehose & Substreams Stack.
- Lena is working with students from the larger Sichuan University to host a similar event there in the future. Weโre currently looking for dates and sponsors.
- Blog post with pictures to be published soon.
- The Pinax team contributed to an event in Germany on October 31st: Dough, Data, and Decentralization - Graph Community Meetup hosted by Deutsche Telekom and Graph AdvocatesDAO
- Hosted in the Auditorium of the Deutsche Telekom.
- About 45 people attended, among them other web3 builders and German crypto influencers, like BTC-Echo.
- Martin, Pinaxโs VP of marketing, did a presentation on Why Firehose and Substreams.
- Telekom did an inspiring talk about their web3 plans and why the Graph is playing a crucial role in that.
- Jana, Pinaxโs director of community operations, recorded all of the presentations to share with the community once the edit is done.
- Pinax is now publishing summaries of the Indexer Office hours on our blog.
- Weโve published 3 new Substreams unleashed videos:
- We published 5 new blog posts:
- Contributed to StreamingFast and The Graph docs:
- Charles presented in builder office hours on substreams javascript sink library
Collaboration with core developers and new consumers on designing and testing new data services while augmenting the Indexer experience with new tooling
- Developed and enhanced a bunch of open source Substreams, sinks, and Substream-powered APIs:
- New Substreams ClickHouse Sink - a tool to pipe data from the blockchain into a ClickHouse database.
- New Substreams ERC20 API - retrieve ERC-20 Balance, Supply & Contract.
- New Substreams Clock API - retrieve block number & timestamps.
- New AtomicMarket sales API - rest API to retrieve data to build market volume charts for collections of NFTs in the AtomicMarket ecosystem on EOS and WAX, powered by our recently enhanced AtomicMarket sales Substreams.
- Added Starknet, Near & graph_out support for Subtivity Substreams - Block level activity, including Transaction Count, Action Count (Events), and Unique Active Wallets (UAW).
- Enhanced our Substreams Sink WebSockets - a tool that allows developers to pipe data extracted from a blockchain to WebSockets.
- Successfully tested feeding Antelope substreams into graph-node.
