Smart Contract Upgrades

One Member raised the need to provide more clarity on Council member responsibilities when executing contract updates on approved governance proposals. Another Member highlighted opportunities to more efficiently execute upgrades. The Members discussed best practices from other protocols as considerations for progressive improvements of the smart contract upgrade process at The Graph.

Advocates Program Update

One Foundation member presented an update of the Advocates program. Since its launch on 2/2/2022, the Advocates program has seen significant volume in new applications, demonstrating a strong community interest to engage in the Graph & web3 ecosystem. The Foundation member presented the next steps in the application process and ideas of the on-boarding design of new Advocates in the future.

Decentralized Governance

The Members shared thoughts on future design ideas that would enable decentralizing governance decisions further out into the community. The Members discussed different models from other protocols that may be useful to study more deeply. One Member welcomed the idea of a community-driven decentralized structure that ties into the current Council model of network stakeholder representation.
