Hi, I am new here and not very experienced yet. About 18 months ago I moved GRT tokens from my Metamask wallet (account address 0xA4b444d9e9384EF3C0038Da89D1a4AbcF019d612) to Graph Explorer and staked it with indexer p2p-org.eth. Then on 12/07/23 I unstaked everything and waited until the second week of January 24 to withdraw all my GRT tokens. To my surprise, for the first time, this time Graph Explorer connected me to a different account address in Metamask and I lost all visibility and access to my tokens. I thought that Graph Explorer would allow me to toggle between different Metamask accounts, but that doesn’t appear to be correct. I am pretty sure I am making a novice mistake, what gives?
Hey there. I have found the graph network explorer to be a bit picky like this. I’m guessing you connected some other metamask address elsewhere, or maybe even you’re using a shared computer? (hopefully not that 2nd option)
In any case, start by disconnecting metamask completely. Go to Graph Explorer. In the upper right, look to see if a connected address is defaulting. If so, use the drop down and disconnect it. Then reconnect metamask, and connect to Graph Explorer. Again, make sure the upper right is showing the address you intend it to. If not, force the disconnect and reconnect.
I’ve had the issue you describe, and these steps solve it for me.
Thank you very much for your information. What you describe sounds very logical. I tried it several times. I have three accounts in Metamask. I disconnected all three of them. Then disconnected the wrong account (one of the three in Metamask) in Graph Explorer. Next I reconnected the correct account to Metamask and opened Graph Explorer again. To no avail. the incorrect account shows up again. It does not make sense. How can Graph Explorer connect to an account in Metamask that is not active or connected???
Please re-read my second paragraph, make sure you follow it exactly. It includes actions that you must take in the browser on the graph site, independent of what you are doing with the metamask direct disconnections.
One other thought. Try creating an incognito browser window, which should force you to initiate a clean logon to both metamask and the graph network. This should end conflict that’s likely to be caused by cache or cookies.
First, I really appreciate all your efforts to help me in my dilemma -thks. I tried your latest idea with the incognito browser window.
I thought it might work. When I entered thegraph.com URL and tried to connect to Metamask It asked me to install Metamask. When I tried that using the Recovery Phrase, Chrome came back stating in incognito mode no Chrome extensions can be installed. Another brick wall. I moved a bit forward on my own. In Graph Explorer I clicked several times on the “wrong” wallet address on the top right. That opens up the content in the URL window and showed the “wrong” wallet address. I replaced it (cut and paste) with the correct one and that showed me the correct indexer and the correct withdrawable amount of GRT. However, when I moved all the way to the right and clicked on the withdraw tap it displayed GRT: 0. I think this tap is still connected the wallet address at the top right which never changed when I did my cut and paste routine.
Dang, sorry to hear that. Have you tried an entirely different browser? Like Firefox or MS Edge? Brave?
I’ve had the problem you are having, but disconnecting metamask and disconnecting from graph explorer… plus refreshing has always fixed it. Sometimes I had to do those steps a few times, but it would eventually clear up.
ok, I will now try different browsers. Not ready to give up yet. Thx
Hi Janet … I think that is your name?
You know what just happened, I cannot believe it. Your genius saved the day. I went through the routine again, but this time with Firefox. And guess what , it sailed through without a hitch, connected to the proper account and the total GRT including what was staked for about 2 years was right there. I was ableto withdraw it and all is peachy keen. Unbelievable! How can I thank you for sticking with me???
