GraphOps Update March 2026

:date: GraphOps Monthly Update - March 2026

:astronaut: Executive Summary

This month, GraphOps delivered several key updates.

On the Substreams Data Service, the team reached a fully working end-to-end service flow, with the necessary MVP components and validated against a local runtime. This is a significant milestone, putting the MVP development at roughly 75% complete, and demonstrated Substreams data flowing between a Consumer and Indexer via the SDS gRPC protocol with trust-minimized incremental payments!

On Tycho, the team continued collaboration on go-to-market with The Graph Foundation to bring Tycho to The Graph.

On the Kubernetes Launchpad, the team implemented new chart releases along with an upgrade to resolve OpenShift security issues for community operators.

On Network Operations, GraphOps contributed subgraph support work in service of the REO testing plan.

Happy April everyone! :sparkles:

:tada: Looking Back (What Was Delivered)

Substreams Data Service

  • Reached a fully working end-to-end SDS flow for the first time: the MVP now covers the complete consumer-to-provider path in a local runtime.
  • Reworked the MVP around the real runtime path: consumer sidecar ingress, oracle/direct provider selection, and provider-originated payment control.
  • Implemented the consumer sidecar as the Substreams-compatible endpoint/proxy and integrated oracle-based provider discovery.
  • Wired provider-authoritative metering into gateway payment state, added deterministic RAV request thresholds, and enforced low-funds stops in the live runtime path.
  • Validated the flow against local Firecore/dummy-blockchain runtime wiring and improved the local demo/dev workflow.
  • Documented the runtime compatibility contract, architecture updates, and remaining follow-up work.

Tycho & Data Ingestion Architecture

  • Continued development on go-to-market strategy collaborating with The Graph Foundation and the PropellerHeads team.

Kubernetes Launchpad (Documentation, Starter, Charts, Namespaces, Taskfiles)

  • New chart releases: erigon, nimbus, lighthouse, arbitrum-nitro, graph-node, graph-network-indexer and proxyd.
  • erigon bumped to v3.3.10, a mandatory update for Gnosis and Chiado users due to schedule changes.
  • lighthouse updated to v8.1.3, nimbus-eth2 to multiarch-v26.3.1, and proxyd to v4.26.0.
  • arbitrum-nitro updated to v3.9.8-4624977; graph components (indexer-agent, indexer-service-rs, indexer-tap-agent, graph-node) refreshed with new lifecycle management features.
  • cert-manager upgraded to v1.20.1 in launchpad-namespaces, resolving OpenShift security scanner issues.
  • kube-prometheus-stack bumped to 82.16.2 across namespaces for monitoring stability.
  • Dependency updates across Polygon, Gnosis, Ethereum, Celo, and Arbitrum namespaces (proxyd, erigon, arbitrum-nitro, nimbus — canary and stable releases).

    • #2135: Updated nimbus to 0.6.14-canary.1.

Network Operations (Graph Network Subgraph, Graph Network Substreams, Graph Activity Subgraph, Network Monitoring Subgraph, Network Analytics Subgraph)

  • Assisted with the Rewards Eligibility Oracle testing and rollout plan
  • Updated the Core Network Subgraph to support REO rollout

:glowing_star: Looking Ahead

  • Continued collaboration on Tycho data service GTM strategy and Public Beta Launch.
  • Finalize the full MVP scope on the Substreams Data Service. Address the remaining work related to fee collection from the provider side, including handling transaction states.
