Summary
The Pinax team achieved significant milestones across multiple fronts this November! From expanding blockchain support with new chains like Scroll Sepolia, Rootstock, and Chiliz to launching innovative data services on the Snowflake Marketplace, we continued to enhance The Graph’s ecosystem.
Our development of the Graph Network Registry and cross-language libraries strengthens the protocol’s foundation, while our ongoing work with Sourcify and Cosmos subgraphs demonstrates our commitment to expanding functionality. Through educational content, community engagement, and technical documentation, we’ve maintained our focus on making blockchain data more accessible and reliable.
Read on for a detailed look at this month’s developments and initiatives!
Looking back (what was delivered)
Provided infrastructure for chains currently supported on The Graph and to support protocol integration with new chains.
New blockchains for this period:
- Chiliz (firehose/substream)
- Scroll Sepolia (firehose/substream)
- Rootstock (RPC)
Blockchains under testing:
- Base op-erigon
- Optimism op-erigon
- Chiliz testnet spicy
- IoTex
Raw Blocks Substreams:
We’ve published Substreams Raw Blocks v1.0.0 through Substreams Raw Blocks. for all supported Firehose block types, including: EVM, Antelope, Solana, Cosmos, Beacon, Bitcoin, Starknet and Arweave
Antelope Substreams:
Improved token tracking for antelope-tokens across Antelope blockchains, featuring a modular architecture with separate modules for block indexing, event processing, and database updates.
Cosmos Subgraphs on The Graph:
Continued development of the simple web app, enhancing the user experience with a dedicated governance parameters page, improved proposal displays, and a new voter page for exploring account voting history.
Data Services:
- Launched Ethereum datasets on Snowflake marketplace, enabling direct SQL querying capabilities and seamless data exploration for blockchain analysts and developers.
- Deployed the Graph Network Registry (registry.thegraph.com), establishing a centralized source of truth for chain configurations across The Graph ecosystem. Created a Demo app: https://graph-networks-app.vercel.app/
- Developed cross-language The Graph Network libraries (TypeScript, Rust, Go) for seamless interaction with The Graph Network Registry
- Development continues on Sourcify features including Graph CLI improvements and token API enhancements. We’ve successfully prepared backfilling data for Sourcify integration and have initiated collaborative discussions to expand this capability.
Auxiliary Service Information for this period:
- We are actively expanding the Riverside data centre to strengthen our infrastructure, providing increased scalability and ensuring we can effectively support the growing influx of new chains.
- Continued development of our deployment systems using Kubernetes and Talos to deliver fast, stable, and reliable deployment processes.
- Optimized indexer performance by prioritizing high-query subgraphs to dedicated, high-performance index nodes
- Implemented a unified and automated backup framework to enhance reliability, streamline processes, and reduce the risk of data loss, ensuring more consistent and efficient support for our infrastructure.
