Edge & Node June 2025 Update

:woman_astronaut: Executive Summary

Edge & Node’s last month was marked by technical and ecosystem milestones across The Graph’s suite of products. Engineering teams finalized critical components for Horizon deployment, completed an audit of the DIPs smart contracts, and advanced new capabilities in Studio, Gateway, and Hypergraph. On the adoption front, Atlantis and Sonic Exchange became top Network users, with Sonic tripling its weekly query volume. The launch of the AI Suite for Docs and Solana one-pager illustrated our deepening focus on AI and multichain support. Developer Relations expanded outreach with new content, livestreams, and course material, including new Mandarin-language content. The House of Web3 closed Q2 by onboarding 27 new co-creators and delivering a structured Launchpad program, bolstering its prominence as a BD funnel on top of all the community building it enables.

:tada: Notable June Accomplishments

Engineering

  • Product Engineering:

    • Released package that handles user events, and their resulting change in API Key query status, as a stream that the gateway consumes for near-realtime updates of API Key status
    • Worked on migration to new IPFS endpoints
    • Implemented much-anticipated fix for Studio to provide a better UI/UX for subgraph indexing logs
    • Finished unwinding of SPS
  • Protocol Engineering:

    • Lots of progress on the off-chain work needed to deploy Horizon:
      • Updates to the Arbitration charter and Arbitration CLI
      • Indexer Agent changes complete
      • Network Subgraph work complete
      • Indexer rust components (service + TAPv2) and Graph Explorer still need to undergo integration testing
    • DIPs / Indexing Fees smart contracts implementation was completed and audited!
    • DIPs off-chain MVP has been making incremental progress - some testing and bugfixing was achieved throughout June/July
  • Graph Node:

    • Wrapping up reviews for GND local subgraph DevEx
  • Indexer Components:

    • Working on Rust rewrite to facilitate easier contribution by more teammates
  • Gateway:

    • Released v27.1.4-v27.2.2
      • Upgraded dependencies; notably removed the dependency on the agora repo
      • Uses the new API key event stream from studio as the gateway’s source of API keys
        • Fixed a bug in the API key event consumer that might delay startup
      • Added signal handler to allow graceful shutdown during the startup phase
  • Hypergraph:

    • Implemented a new authentication flow using smart accounts, ERC-7579 and session keys
    • Implemented a draft smart contract for a SpaceRegistry used to deploy spaces to the public Knowledge Graph and track users’ personal spaces
    • Improved and iterated on the TypeSync app to help users build app schemas using types from the Knowledge Graph
    • Fixed issues with, built, and published typesync CLI to correctly resolve the distributed client code with it
    • Created a typesync package that takes an input schema and generates the Mapping definition for the schema, as well as the GRC-20 ops needed to publish the schema to the knowledge graph

Business Development

  • Supported Yaniv’s talk in Pragma and Eth-Prague
  • Atlantis is a new top user of the Network
  • Sonic Exchange query volume tripled to 3M/week

Marketing & Design

  • Shipped first iteration of AI Suite for Docs
  • Shipped Solana & Substreams one-pager
  • Finalized & shipped How To Docs in order to prep for LLMs

Developer Relations

  • Represented The Graph at EthPrague and EthCC
  • 3 long form X videos created and posted promoting Token API
  • Added NFT endpoints for Token API to Scaffold-ETH starter kit in examples repo
  • Output 4 vibe coding livestreams on YouTube and X
  • Chinese Mandarin course content published on OpenBuild.xyz’s Web3 Data analyst course with 500+ signups

House of Web3

  • Hosted 3 events and 2 offsites
  • Continued high engagement from newsletters - outreach that goes out to ~5000 recipients saw open rates between 61 and 62%
  • Completed the House of Web3 Launchpad, including a full 12-week agenda, Notion hub, and VC outreach, which set up a repeatable framework for future cohorts
  • Onboarded 27 new co-creators in Q2 2025
