Edge & Node's September / October 2025 Update

:woman_astronaut: Executive Summary

September marked a truly pivotal month for The Graph Protocol… Horizon received deployment approval from The Graph Council! Horizon contracts are now merged, and testnet deployment is imminent. On the subgraph side, Subgraph Studio and Explorer received important fixes and diagnostic tools, while indexing benefitted from the release of Graph Node v0.40.1. Adoption received a boost with eight organizations deploying subgraphs totaling 10M in query volume. Developer mindshare increased in Asia with exposure at UDC Upbit Korea and Eth India Global. Stateside, House of Web3 expanded reach with 13 events plus new visibility-boosting venue listings. Looking ahead, the focus is on Horizon’s October testnet launch, Rewards Eligibility Oracle audit, and continued UI updates to support these protocol milestones. Read on for more detail.

Engineering

  • Protocol Engineering

    • Momentous Horizon updates:

      • Completed integration testing, including testing on our old L1 Sepolia testnet, fixing several issues along the way

      • The Council approved the deployment!

      • The Horizon branch has been merged to main in the contracts repo!

      • Testnet deployment imminent

    • The Service Quality Oracle has a new name - Rewards Eligibility Oracle

      • A pilot instance is already running and posting to Arbitrum One (albeit still not affecting rewards)

      • Conversations with Indexers have continued and there is consensus on the initial requirements to receive rewards

      • Relevant contracts have been officially pull requested to the main contracts repo

    • Monitoring for The Graph’s CCIP integration is now set up

  • Studio / Explorer Engineering

    • Added internal diagnostic tools to aid ongoing Studio billing operations support

    • Implemented bug fix for Studio to address minor issue switching key status for a payment edge case

    • Continued Explorer testing and fixes for Horizon update

  • Graph Node: v0.40.1 released

    • Enhanced IPFS logging to add Content Identifiers (CIDs) to IPFS operation names, in order to improve debugging experience

Business Development

  • 8 new organizations deployed subgraphs for a combined total of 10M in query volume: Cryptolabs Research, Safle, Baby Doge, Arrakis Finance, Overnight Finance, Tokemi Space, Fractal, FWC

  • Spoke at UDC Upbit Korea

Developer Relations

  • Published Token API case study

  • Achieved listing by both Lans and Worka to increase organic reach of House of Web3

  • Hosted 13 events and offsites, including 2nd annual Base AI event
